Social Justice Week 2022

Social Justice Week 2022 runs from September 4-10 and focuses on the topic of racism. The title of the Caritas resources is WHAKAKĀHORETIA TE KAIKIRI. KOTAHI ANŌ TĀTOU I ROTO I TE KARAITI / SAY NO TO RACISM. WE ARE ONE IN CHRIST.

Education resources are now available and include notes for teachers, daily prayers, activities, liturgies, a poster, a board game, and an action card template. A key focus in developing these resources has been the Catholic social teaching (CST) principles of human dignity and solidarity. We hope that through using these resources, school communities will feel challenged, inspired, and empowered to bring about positive change so that together we can make the world a better place.

As we journey through this Social Justice Week the key question for each of us to reflect on is: how are we becoming one in Christ?”

Catholic schools around New Zealand will receive hard copies of some of these elements at the end of June.
