Social Justice Week 2021

Social Justice Week 2021 ran from September 12-18 and highlighted the Beatitudes with the theme of encounter and community.

Previous Years Resources:

2020: Easy as CST: unlocking the Church’s Potential

2019: Fair, You Say? Seeking fairness in an unfair world

2018: Enabling Communities. Everyone has a part to play

The 2021 education resources for Social Justice Week highlighted the Beatitudes from Matthew 5: 1-12.

The title of the resources was ‘A Culture of Encounter: Be the Church’.

The 2021 resources followed on from the 2020 resources that unpacked the Catholic Social Teaching (CST) principles. The 2021 resources encourage us to BE the Church through our daily lives and the way we encounter others.

All Catholic schools in New Zealand received an education pack with relevant resources in the last week of term 2 to help with their planning for September.

Posters, cards and stickers were included in these education packs and schools were able to order more through education@caritas.org.nz.
